Khabar Khair (Only Good News)

On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, Yemen Women’s Union (YWU)- Abyan branch, distributed small projects for battered and abused women and girls in the governorate, as part of Livelihoods and Economic Empowerment Program through Safe Space for Women and Girls, run by YWU and supported by UNFPA.

Women and girls were empowered through small projects in various fields, including tailoring, incense making, agriculture, and other handicraft projects to improve their financial income. 30 women benefited from the project, including 14 beneficiaries in the field of agriculture, 12 in the field of tailoring, in addition to 4 beneficiaries in the field of cotton lint.

To support women under the current difficult living conditions caused by the ongoing conflict, YWU in Abyan works to establish such small projects for battered and abused women.
