According to United Nations data, the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) received $422 million of $509 million that Saudi Arabia allocated for the program to fund its projects and development interventions in Yemen in 2021.

According to (SDRPY) statistics, 198 projects were implemented by 71 local partners, benefiting 6 million Yemenis.

     The program is designed to help Yemeni communities gain economic self-sufficiency and combine short-term assistance with long-term projects promoting economic growth.

    The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) has launched development projects and initiatives throughout Yemen since 2018, in addition to development programs and capacity-building for Government institutions.

     In early 2021, The Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction in Yemen announced implementing a number of development projects in Aden, including: rehabilitation of Martyr Ali Ass’ad Muthanna Sports’ Hall, 5 wells drilling project, and Aden International Airport Rehabilitation and Development Project and internal Roads Rehabilitation Project.

    The SDRPY has continued implementing Aden International Airport Rehabilitation and Development Project that aims to raise the level and efficiency of the airport, facilitate access, and improve the quality of services for travelers and airlines.

      According to the program, Aden International Airport Rehabilitation and Development Project includes the runway and terminal area, as well as the rehabilitation of the cargo area and the new airport gate, whereas the first batch of glass facades for the airport, coming from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has arrived.

    According to the latest statistics of the Saudi program, 23 new model schools have been established in in various Yemeni governorates., including Al-Mahra, Socotra, Aden, Taiz, Hadramawt, Marib and Hajjah..

    The program has also built a cardiology center, constructed a full-service dialysis center with 20-patient capacity, and expanded and improved seven general hospitals and health care clinics in Yemen.

    As part of a comprehensive program to build the capacities of Yemen’s government agencies, The Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) launched a program to build the capabilities of the Yemeni Ministry of Finance, which comes as part of a comprehensive program to build the capacities of Yemen’s government agencies.

    The program, launched by the Kingdom in mid-2021 aims at enhancing the planning, development, and public finance capabilities by enabling public institutions to identify their needs and assess their capacities to perform their basic duties and adapt to various circumstances.
