  • Kuwait Society for Relief Inaugurated the Third Phase of Water Fields and Pumping Station in Abyan and the Solar-powered Water Project of the Republican Educational Hospital in Taiz city

Kuwait Society for Relief inaugurated the third phase of Al-Husn (Al-Rawa) water rehabilitation project in Abyan Governorate, which consists of water fields and a pumping station in the Al-Hosn area, benefiting more than one million people in Aden and Abyan.

 The Kuwait Society for Relief funded project, includes drilling 10 wells, a station house, a maintenance department, a 10MVA power converter with its electric accessories, electrical and mechanical equipment, and training courses for human resources at the station.

In addition, Kuwait Society for Relief inaugurated the solar-powered water project of the Republican Educational Hospital in Taiz city, which will benefit nearly 20,000 residents in the hospital and the neighboring area. The well’s productivity is estimated at 600,000 liters of water per day.

the project is part of a package of strategic water projects being implemented by the society across Yemen aimed at alleviating the suffering of people due to the ongoing conflict in the country, causing the suspension of a number of water projects for cities.

The project includes drilling a deep borehole well with a high productivity compared to the existing wells in Taiz, producing up to 32 cm per hour and installing a solar-powered pumping unit of 32.4 cubic meters per hour with a capacity of 37 kilowatts, and electrical capacity of 51755 watts. The pumping unit works to pump Water from the well to the hospital tank, as well as to the main water system of the water foundation and distribution points.
