In partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Care and Rehabilitation Fund for Persons with Disabilities in Aden Governorate organized a workshop to present the results of a study on knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding the social inclusion of children with disabilities.
The workshop was held under the patronage of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Said Al-Zarouri, and was attended by experts from the Ministries of Education, Health, Public Media, Legal Affairs, Planning, and relevant authorities. Its aim was to improve social integration of individuals, particularly children with disabilities, in basic services, employment, and public participation.
Saleh Mahmoud, the Deputy Minister for Care at the Ministry of Social Affairs, emphasized the importance of the workshop in reviewing the study prepared by UNICEF and the Care Fund for Persons with Disabilities. The goal was to understand the social attitudes and practices related to persons with disabilities and to disseminate them to other governorates in the future.
Dr. Bilal Al-Kiswani, the Social Policies Director at UNICEF, stated that the study provides information to support effective planning, development, and implementation of strategies, policies, and other interventions related to children with disabilities.
During the opening session, Dr. Najwa Fadl, the Executive Director of the Care Fund for Persons with Disabilities, highlighted the fund’s activities and efforts in achieving the desired goals of caring for individuals with disabilities and working towards their natural integration into society.

The Field Medical Foundation launched a multi-year livelihoods project in the city of Mukalla, in partnership with the World Food Program and funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
During the launch, Dr. Muhib Abbad, head of the Field Medical Foundation, indicated that 2,550 families and 17,850 individuals in eight districts will benefit from this program, namely the city of Mukalla, the countryside of Mukalla, Ghayl Ba Wazir, Hajr, Daw’an, Amd, Sah and Rakhia. He stressed that the project contributes to enhancing livelihoods, developing agricultural wealth, and achieving food security, as it aims to reclaim agricultural lands, rehabilitate water sources and irrigation canals, provide training on modern agricultural techniques, and provide training on handicrafts.
In addition, the director of the World Food Program, Masoud Khan, referred to the importance of sustainable projects, such as the multi-year livelihoods project, which, through its interventions, achieves the benefit and sustainability of income sources for the targeted families, as they will be able to rely on themselves without the need for temporary assistance.

The Deputy Governor of Hadhramout, Sheikh Amr bin Habrish Al-Ali, Inaugurates Drinking Water Project in Haqb Area, Al-Shihr District, funded by Kuwait and implemented by the Kuwait Al Khair Development Foundation. The project includes drilling an artesian well, installing an integrated solar energy system, constructing a concrete tank, and extending a water network to the homes of residents in the area.
The President of the Kuwait Al Khair Development Foundation, Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Al-Ghorabi, noted that the project cost 100 million riyals, emphasizing that it is one of the service projects implemented by the Foundation alongside its humanitarian, developmental, and relief activities and programs.
In addition, Habrish praised the efforts of the Kuwait Al Khair Development Foundation and its humanitarian, developmental, and service interventions, emphasizing the importance of establishing such projects in rural and remote areas to alleviate the suffering of citizens.

The President of the Gulf of Aden Fishery Authority, Dr. Abdulsalam Ahmed Ali, met with a team from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and a team from the HS Engineering and Construction Consulting Group.
During the meeting, the teams discussed the implementation mechanism of the fishery port restoration project in Hajif area, and assessed its current condition, including the condition of the docks, walkways, fishing facilities, and other equipment. They also identified the project’s needs for restoration, expansion, and modernization in accordance with international standards and environmental requirements.
The President of the Authority, along with the UNDP team and the consulting company, received a detailed explanation of the comprehensive study being prepared to determine the plan and technical specifications for the restoration and development of the fishery port in Hajif area. They also discussed the potential challenges that may arise during the project implementation and the proposed solutions to address them.
The President of the Gulf of Aden Fishery Authority commended the efforts of the UNDP and the consulting company in preparing the studies and technical designs according to international standards. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the technical study for the fishery port restoration project meets the highest specifications and incorporates advanced technologies.
It is worth mentioning that the restoration process of the fishery port aims to improve the facilities and infrastructure, including fishing basins, waterways, and the management and treatment system for industrial waste.

A delegation from the Dutch Embassy visited the site of a water tank construction project with a capacity of 18,000 m3, funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the German government, and implemented by the Social Fund for Development at Al-Barzakh Station in Khormaksar district of Aden governorate.
The Dutch Embassy delegation familiarized themselves with the nature of the project and its significance, as it serves half of the population of Aden. The Local Water and Sanitation Corporation in Aden Governorate (LWSCA), Engineer Mohammed Bakhabirah, emphasized the importance of the water tank construction project at the Al-Barzakh Station, considering its role in storing and distributing water through a modern system and secure facilities that supply the directorates of the capital, Aden, with water.
He explained that the project is part of the LWSCA’s plans in Aden to enhance the water system, which also includes the maintenance of Bab Aden tank in Jabal Hadid and the replacement of the pipelines for At-Tawahi and Al- Mualla districts.
Bakhabirah referred to the progress of work at Al-Barzakh Station and the overall situation of the LWSCA, the challenges it faces, and the necessary requirements to overcome these challenges and improve the level of work and the services provided to citizens.
It is worth mentioning that the operations at the station involve receiving water at Al-Barzakh Station, storing it, and pumping it to the supplying tanks for the Khormaksar, Seera, Al- Mualla, and At-Tawahi districts. Additionally, water coming from the fields and exiting Al-Barzakh tanks to the districts undergoes testing.

The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has provided 6 trucks loaded with aid and food supplies to Yemen, with a total cargo of 109 tons. These assistance efforts are part of the KRCS’s campaign to provide urgent aid and relief to Yemen through a series of charitable and humanitarian activities.
Abdulrahman Al-Aoun, the General Manager of the KRCS, emphasized the importance of understanding the needs of displaced families and alleviating their suffering during these challenging circumstances. He pointed out that the KRCS aims to assist displaced Yemeni families and improve their livelihoods during the holy month of Ramadan by implementing ongoing relief campaigns. This includes the distribution of humanitarian and relief aid, as well as the implementation of developmental and medical projects to help them overcome the difficult conditions they are facing.
It is worth mentioning that the KRCS has funded several relief projects in Yemen, including healthcare centers, hospital support, and the provision of food, health, and energy supplies. They have also supported orphans in terms of education and provided assistance to the people of Socotra archipelago by using solar energy to illuminate the village of Dhaba Karaja in the archipelago.

Funded by the Japanese government in partnership with UNICEF, a training course has commenced in Al-Hawtah District, Lahj Governorate. The course is designed to train 50 male and female teachers on the “School Readiness Guide: Teacher Training Package,” and another 50 teachers on the “Essentials of Remote Learning Guide” at Khadijah and Al-Na’aj schools in Al-Hawtah.
The course will span 5 days, during which participants will receive comprehensive training based on the respective guides.

The special team representing the Roads Maintenance Fund, led by the Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors, Engineer Moaeen Al-Mas, participated in a virtual meeting of World Bank experts and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) regarding the capacity building project for executive units in Yemen.
The meeting included a number of World Bank experts, UNOPS officials, the Middle East Road Projects Manager, Engineer Abdulhakim Al-Aghbari, the Capacity Building Project Officer (DAITO), the Lifeline Project Manager, Engineer Wasantha Kumar, the Training Officer, Dr. Anas Al-Nazari, and several project specialists from UNOPS, as well as directors of executive units from various institutions in Yemen involved in projects funded by the World Bank.
Engineer Al-Mas emphasized the importance of the role played by the World Bank and UNOPS in implementing the capacity building project for executive units in Yemen. He highlighted that the Roads Fund looks forward to implementing more specialized and applied training programs for the personnel of these units.
Al-Mas stressed the importance of advanced survey equipment, programs, and applications used in the road asset evaluation system, and the utilization of experiences from other countries to keep pace with them and achieve the project’s objectives.

Funded by Kuwait Specialized Eye Center and through the implementing partner in Yemen, Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and Relief, Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has provided a new ambulance equipped with full medical equipment to the office of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Wadi Hadhramout.”
Ammar Saeed Al-Amri, the Deputy Governor of Hadhramout for the Affairs of Wadi and Desert Districts, expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Kuwait Specialized Eye Center and KRCS, stating that the provided ambulance will undoubtedly contribute to improving the performance of public health centers in Wadi Hadhramout.
Eng. Salem Bawazir, the Director of Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and Relief office in Hadhramout, said, “This project comes as part of a partnership between Estijabah Foundation for Humanitarian Aid and Relief and KRCS aimed at ensuring the rapid provision of medical care to those in dire need in Wadi Hadhramout.”
Hani Al-Amoudi, the Director of the Ministry of Public Health and Population’s office in Wadi Hadhramout, confirmed that the new ambulance and its modern equipment will play a significant role in enhancing the ambulance system in the valley, ensuring that citizens have access to healthcare facilities and receive timely medical support.
It is worth mentioning that this is the third ambulance provided to the health office in Wadi Hadhramout, contributing to the improvement of healthcare services.
