At “Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum”, the European Union (EU) announced the provision of a new financial grant of more than €193,000,000 to support the most affected and vulnerable groups in Yemen as a result of the conflict that has been going on for 8 years.

The grant aims to support livelihoods and face the food crisis in Yemen. It contributes to achieving long-term development goals. €136,000,000 will be allocated to the Union’s partners in the humanitarian field, and €55,000,000 as development aid for the food security of Yemenis. Activities funded by the EU target different areas, such as health, nutrition, water and sanitation.

Yemen is suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. According to UN reports, the collapse of the economic structure and the high prices have led to food insecurity in Yemen, where millions of people depend on humanitarian aid. Therefore, the European Union has provided more than €1,400,000,000 in response to the crisis in Yemen, including €998,000,000 for humanitarian aid and €487,000,000 for development.
